Everyday Extraordinary

“Don’t compare anything – prices, standards of hygiene, quality of life, means of transport, nothing! You are not traveling in order to prove that you have a better life than other people – your aim is to find out how other people live, what they can teach you, how they deal with reality and with the extraordinary.”

Now Bring Me That Horizon

When the road is calling you to run wild but doubt is running circles around your psyche, its easy to get tangled up in fear. Yes. Traveling requires that you leap.  And its this leap that teaches us how much terrain we can cover with our own two legs.  Getting your limbs on the road cannot be compared to overhearing the adventures of others.  Placing yourself outside of your comfort zone with courage and conviction is the challenge and the blessing you find yourself face to face with.

What you must ask yourself is, if not now, when?
Theres no time like the present to cast your fears aside and get moving.
So put your Willing Foot forward and repeat after Jack Sparrow:

“Bring me that horizon”

1. Make It Mine- Jason Mraz
2. Fly Me Away- Goldfrapp
3. Vagabond- Wolfmother
4. 10 Mile Stereo- Beach House
5. Southside- Moby feat. Gwen Stefani
6. The Journey- Dolores O’Riordan
7. Australia- The Shins
8. Universal Traveler- Air
9. Amor Fati- Washed Out
10.You Get What You Give- New Radicals
11.Fly Away- Lenny Kravitz
12.Get Free- The Vines
13.They Say Vision- Res
14.Green Aisles- Real Estate
15.Elephant Gun- Beirut

Into the Night Sky

Every year during a full moon in November, there is a northern lantern festival in Thailand.  Thousands of individuals release hot air laterns into the night sky to send their wishes and bad fourtunes towards the Gods.  To me, the idea of releasing these beautiful creations into the sky all at once represents such unity while at the same time allowing an opportunity to release a part of yourself. Having a cultural celebration once a year where you could unite with thousands to take all of the worries and stress of everyday and let it float into the night sky is truly magical.

Ode to Summer

‘That cut grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of the pool give you the courage you don’t have the rest of the year. You can be greateful and easy, with no eyes on you and no paths. Summer just opens the door and lets you out.’
